CRITT TJFU

CRITT TJFU is an industrial research, innovation, and technology transfer centre, accredited as a CRT (Centre de Ressources Technologiques) and ORDC (Centre de de Recherche et de Diffusion des Connaissances). It specializes in the study, development, and transfer of environmentally friendly innovative technological solutions in the fields of surface functionalization, cleaning, stripping, selective separation of dissimilar materials, and additive manufacturing. CRITT TJFU has a unique technological platform in Europe, bringing together on a single site cold spray technology, supercritical nitrogen, and high-pressure water jet technology.

For more than 40 years, the centre has supported regional economic development and advised local companies (SMEs, mid-sized companies, and craft enterprises) on technological and strategic matters. It has extensive expertise across all construction sectors and contributes to departmental structural policy, particularly in spatial planning, the development of economic infrastructure, research, innovation, and the structuring of the circular economy.

Role in the UniGR-CIRKLA Project

The Meuse is a rural region with low population density and a weak transport infrastructure. In the field of circular economy—particularly for construction and household materials—it faces significant challenges. At the same time, the circular economy represents an important lever for the region, fostering the development of cross-border value chains and strengthening smart development strategies.

CRITT TJFU is a regional economic actor supporting public authorities in territorial development through its expertise in knowledge development, innovation, and dissemination. Within the overarching mission “Towards a more circular territory,” the centre acts as an operational interface between the UniGR-CIRKLA project and relevant stakeholders in the Meuse. It feeds the project with local data, material flows, experiences, and existing models, and ensures the dissemination of project results across the region.

Launched in early 2021, the THYMO project (Traitement hydrométallurgique de cartes électroniques de téléphones mobiles) is funded by the Carnot Institute ICEEL. Its objective is to develop a process for the treatment and recovery of metals contained in mobile phone printed circuit boards.

COREVA project

learn more ...

The COREVA project brings together the expertise of two technology centres in the Grand Est region, ICAR-CM2T and CRITT TJFU, as well as CETIM (Centre Technique des Industries Mécaniques). The partners pool their know-how and resources to develop thermoplastic composite semi-finished products from waste materials, which can be used in demanding applications thanks to enhanced material properties.

RemaNet project

learn more ...

TJFU collaborates with the RemaNet partners to develop repair solutions for end-of-life components. TJFU technologies, such as fluid jet processes for surface preparation and Cold Spray for repair, are adapted and studied to meet the objectives of the project.

Interreg FAFIL
