"Are we circular?" - Seminar on mineral resources and metals

🌍 From rising demand to resource scarcity: how can we manage raw materials in a world increasingly driven by metals and materials?

💡 On this topic, Philippe Giaro from the GeMMe research centre at Université de Liège delivered an insightful seminar on 21 November at Université catholique de Louvain, as part of the UniGR-CIRKLA project (supported by Interreg Greater Region).

🎓 During this one-hour session, he introduced engineering students at bachelor’s level to the key challenges and levers of the circular economy: from the use and recycling of metals in industry and everyday life, to the strategic importance of rare earth elements, as well as the geopolitical tensions surrounding global raw material supply chains.

⚙️ A valuable contribution to strengthening the skills of young researchers and future engineers, equipping them with concrete tools for the sustainable and responsible management of natural resources.
