Circular Economy Research Forum – Launch of the UniGR Event Series “ECHO”
The new interdisciplinary event series ECHO of the University of the Greater Region starts with a scientific forum on circular economy research. The first edition, titled “Circular Economy Research Forum”, will take place on 19–20 May 2025 at the University of Liège.
The event is organised in collaboration with the UniGR-CIRKLA project, which is funded by the Interreg Greater Region programme.
🌱 Our resources are limited – but their lifecycle doesn’t have to be!
The circular economy promotes the more efficient and longer-lasting use of materials. By combining expertise from science, society, and industry, we can design products more sustainably, optimize construction concepts, and strategically recycle valuable materials – a crucial step toward a future-proof economy.
As part of ECHO, UniGR’s new interdisciplinary event series for early-career researchers, UniGR-CIRKLA brings together bright minds from across disciplines for a two-day forum to explore the key questions of this circular transition:
- How can material flows in the Greater Region be systematically tracked?
- Which technological, economic, and social solutions support the long-term use of materials?
- How can production processes, construction methods, and consumption patterns be adapted to global challenges?
What to expect:
- Expert talks from various disciplines
- Exchange and networking: poster presentations and discussion sessions
- Interactive evening event: Serious Game Night on the circular economy
