Scientific Conference on Concrete

Concrete – more precisely, the production of cement, its main component – is responsible for around 8 % of global CO₂ emissions* – Time to Make Circularity Work!

How can the ecological footprint of concrete be significantly reduced without compromising durability and functionality?

Answers and innovative approaches will be provided at the international conference “23. Journées Scientifiques du (RF)²B”, taking place on 8–9 July 2025 in Nancy.

🔎 Under the guiding theme “Reducing CO₂ and Environmental Impact of Concrete”, the Jean Lamour Institute of the Université de Lorraine invites researchers, engineers, and professionals from science and practice to exchange insights on the latest developments in low-CO₂ concrete production.

The focus will be on:
• New types of concrete
• Assessment of environmental performance and durability
• Sustainable planning & maintenance of instructure

Take the opportunity to connect with international experts, build valuable contacts, and actively shape the future of sustainable construction!

The event is also connected to the UniGR-CIRKLA project, which explores sustainable building materials, efficient material flows, and innovative construction methods as part of its diverse activities funded by Interreg Greater Region.
