Workshop - Circular Economy in the Construction Sector

Circular economy in the construction sector – what are the prospects?

The workshop “Quelles perspectives pour le développement de l'économie circulaire dans la construction ?” within the ReInvenTe project provides practice-oriented answers to this question. It is organised by the Department of Urban and Environmental Engineering (UEE) at the University of Liège and showcases regional developments and successful models of circular construction in Wallonia.

What to expect:
A half-day programme offering insights into current methods and approaches in circular construction, as well as numerous opportunities to exchange with colleagues from research, industry, and public administration.

Within the ReInvenTe project, an inventory of the regional building stock and a dynamic mapping of demolition and construction processes in Wallonia have been developed. On this basis, several scenarios were created to make available material flows visible – an important foundation for the transformation of the construction industry.

At the same time, this opens up perspectives for transferring these approaches to other parts of the Greater Region – fully in line with the UniGR-CIRKLA project, which brings together stakeholders from science, industry, and society across borders to advance the circular economy.
